Tourism and recreation.
The biggest sight in Wejherowo is the over 350 year old Wejherowo Calvary, which is the third oldest sanctuary of The Passion in Poland (after Zebrzydów and Pakosy Calvarias). Visited by masses of pilgrims and tourists, the Calvary, situated on moraine hills, is called Holy Mountains or Jerusalem of Kaszuby region.
Planning a hike around Wejherowo one cannot pass over the historic marketplace with a promenade, where the oldest monuments of the town are located. On the spot, in a tourist information centre, you can get necessary information and begin a walk around the historic streets of the town. In a A. Majkowski park you can rest from the city turmoil. Close to you, there will be the house of Przebendowski and Keyserling Palace, which is at the moment a base of Stationery and Music from Kaszuby and Pomerania Museum.
Additionally, there are plenty of attractions prepared for enthusiasts of active recreation. Steep slopes cut through by numerous erosive valleys in combination with sophisticated flora is an ideal ground for enthusiasts of hiking and cycling. In this area, there is a bicycle path "Wielka Kalwaryjska" (6 km), and, in the north part of the town, a bicycle path to Rumia. For hikers, there are four marked out trails: black "Zagórskiej Strugi", red "Wejherowski", green "Puszczy Darżlubskiej", blue "Krawędzią Kępy Puckiej". In "Miga" and "Rancho Banderoza" forester's lodges, throughout the whole year, one can rent a horse or a carriage or purchase a horse-riding lesson. In "Muza" forester's lodge one can acquaint himself with an interesting exhibition of Izba Przyrodnicza (department of Ecology and Environment). The enthusiasts of tennis have tennis courts at their disposal. Tourists who prefer aquatic sports or fishing can visit neighbouring lakes, including Żarnowieckie lake.
