The town of Wejherowo offers you a wide range of extremely attractive sport and recreation activities. The authorities, in order to create proper conditions for active recreation, especially for children, build new and modernize existing sport infrastructure. SP Nr 6 (primary school), SP Nr 11 (primary school) administer large sports halls. Plans for the forthcoming years include building a 25-meter swimming pool in ZS Nr 3 (complex of schools).

The stadium of Wejherowski Klub Sportowy "Gryf" (Wejherowo Sport Club "Gryf") is situated in forest surroundings on Wzgórze Wolności (Freedom Hill). In the stadium, apart from the football league games, there are numerous galas and other recreational events organized. Ogólnopolskie Biegi Jakuba Wejhera (nationwide Jakub Wejher running contests) gather top polish professional runners and, additionally, children and young people. As an event, these races popularise the idea of active recreation.

One of the most popular sports in town is basketball. Its enthusiasts can take part in Streetball competitions. On the marketplace you can watch international basketball Wejher Cup contests. In Wejherowo there are also basketball league teams to cheer. In HB Plus Club you an practice bowling or cheer the teams that take part in Polish Cup Championships.


One of the most attractive elements of sport infrastructure are tennis courts that are beautifully situated on afforested hills. 65 year old courts were recently modernized, which enables organisation of amateur and professional tournaments. A tent hall allows to play all year long. Ognisko TKKF "Tęcza" administers the football pitch and organizes amateur football league.


A very spectacular sport discipline is dancing. It's extremely popular in Wejherowo mainly thanks to the nationwide tournaments organized by a dance studio "Rytm Dance". About 10 years ago in Wejherowo Kurkowe Bractwo Strzeleckie (Shooting Guild) was reactivated. Its beginnings date back to 1836. The Guild organizes nationwide Zawody Kurkowych Bractw Strzeleckich (shooting guild tournament) for "Miecz Jakuba Wejhera" (Jakub Wejher's sword). This event is not only a sport event, but also a variegated spectacle. For cycling trips enthusiasts there are two cycling paths prepared: first from Rumia via Reda to the northern part of Wejherowo and second called "Wielka Kalwaryjska" ("The Great Calvarias") marked out nearby the Calvary of Wejherowo chapels.


The recreational proposals include also horse and carriage rides, hikes around PTTK (Polish Tourist Association) paths and the possibility of playing golf in the one of the most modern golf fields in Poland.
