The most distant history of the town are reflected in the its monuments. A characteristic structure is a town hall situated on the marketplace. Its beginnings date back to 1650 and the present shape corresponds to the XVIII century architecture. It is a result of conversion in 1908.
From the tower of the town hall resounds a bell, which is connected to a clock tower mechanism and strikes hours. The benefactor of the bell from 1649 was, the founder of the town, Jakub Wejher. Nearby the marketplace there are many sacred buildings. The closest to the town hall is the Holy Trinity’s church. It was built in 1643 and to 1927 repeatedly converted.
Nearby the town hall there is a monastic church of saint Ann that was built in the period of 1648-1650. The décor of the interior of the church is in late baroque style. In the church there is a painting of the Virgin Mary of Wejherowo, that was crowned by pope John Paul II. The basement of the church has the remains of house of Wejher and Przebendowski in store.
Sightseeing the historic sacred structures of the town, it’s important not to omit the church of saint Leon the Great.
Another structure that shows the exceptionality of the history of the town is a complex of parks and a palace, that is one of the most precious in the region. There, you can enjoy the renovated palace of the house of Przebendowki and Keyserling, broad park complex and buildings of Cedroński Mill adjoining the park. Visiting the historic structures you should also visit XIX century cemetery that is situated along 3 Maja street.
