In every season of the year, Wejherowo's cultural proposals are of the highest standard. The main animator of the town's cultural life is Wejherowskie Centrum Kultury (Wejherowo Cultural Centre). As a council institution, it is the organizer of the biggest and most important events: Jakub Wejher Days, Wejherowo Fair, Festival of Sea songs, holiday concerts, City Amphitheatre galas, exhibitions, performances and other ceremonies.
Zrzeszenie Kaszubsko-Pomorskie (Pomerania-Kaszuby Association) gathers enthusiasts of culture and language of the Kaszuby region. Its branch in Wejherowo takes care of the regional traditions. If you would like to feel the spirit of the region of Kaszuby, you should visit the house of Przebendowski Palace in which Muzeum Piśmiennictwa i Muzyki Kaszubsko-Pomorskiej (Stationery and Music from Kaszuby and Pomerania regions Museum) is situated. Wejherowo, thanks to activity of several choirs, cultivates the singing traditions. The best known mixed choir is "Cantores Veiherovienses", that is a prize-winner of many national and international festivals. In town there are also: choir "Harmonia", Choir of Szkoła Podstawowa Nr 9 (primary school), Państwowa Szkoła Muzyczna (State School of Music) and Wejherowskie Centrum Kultury (Wejherowo Cultural Centre) Orchestra, theatre company of Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących Nr 1 (secondary school), dancing chorus of Szkoła Podstawowa nr 9 (primary school) and Wejherowskie Centrum Kultury (Wejherowo Cultural Centre), dancing chorus of the youngest children "Bąbelki".
Wejherowo co-operates with friendly towns in France, Sweden, Germany and Ukraine. The most active organisation is Towarzystwo Przyjaźni Polsko-Fracuskiej (Society of Polish-French Friendship). An important role in propagating culture and developing the artistic interests among children and youth is being fulfilled by Ognisko Pracy Pozaszkolnej (after-school work group). Within the confines of the group there is a well-known ship's pattern-shop "Bliza". During the annual Jakub Wejher Days celebration, meritorious Wejherowo citizens are rewarded with statuettes of Jakub Wejher and Wejherowo President Rewards.
